Are You Ready to Receive Love

Are You Ready to Receive the Love You Desire is a collection of inspirational stories, both true and inspired by the Holy Spirit to help us prepare ourselves to receive the right kind of love.  So many times we ask the Lord to bless us or send us a husband, when most of the time we really aren’t ready to receive the man God has so lovingly prepared for us.  In other words, we need to get our house (our lives) in order so we can be ready to receive the love we have been asking, praying, declaring, and decreeing God to send into our lives.

This book covers a lot of issues women might face while waiting for that special someone to come into their lives.  In order for us to receive the love we desire, the first thing we have to do is prepare ourselves to receive this wonderful man in our life BEFORE the Lord sends him to us.

Before we say, “I DO” to the man we are going to marry, we need to make sure we have all of our “I DON’TS” out-of-the-way.  For example, if we don’t like cooking, don’t like cleaning, DON’T like washing clothes, and don’t like getting up early, why are we asking God to bless us with a husband?

All those things are very important when you get married.  You see we have to be about our business if we expect God to enlarge our territory.  Ok?  I know we spend a lot of time on getting our bodies tight, and our hair and nails done, but you know all that isn’t going to last.  I’m not saying it’s not important, because you should take care of yourself.  However, if that is all you are using to get a man, well then years down the line you are going to have a problem.

See the word say: Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last;   but a woman who fears the LORD will be greatly praised.  Reward her for all she has done.  Let her deeds publicly declare her praise.  Proverbs 31:30 (NLT).

All the Bare Minerals, Fashion Fair, and Maybeline won’t help you keep a man.  Oh, it may lure him in, but the word says it won’t last.  We have to start out with the right foundation, and you know The Foundation I am talking about.  If you want to know some of the things we need to work on start reading in the book of Proverbs.

In chapter 31, starting at verse 10, it talks about the characteristics of a virtuous woman.  It reads she’s capable, trustworthy; she will enrich her husband’s life, and she will get up before dawn to prepare breakfast before her household.

See I told you, one of the things we have to work on is getting up early.  This woman is up early, and she is cooking breakfast for her family.  Verse 17, goes on to say she is energetic, strong, and a hard worker.  Ok, I hear somebody saying “what is the man doing”?  I know some of you are saying that was then, this is now, and a lot has changed since that verse was written.  I know we have a lot of women working outside the home now because sometimes it takes two incomes to keep things going.  Hold on ladies, don’t count me out.  I’ve been both a stay at home mom and a working mother so I feel your pain.  But we’re going to work together to get us there.  However, we still need to understand if we want to be a virtuous woman, we still need to rise up early to get things prepared for our family.

And ladies remember this, when that verse was written don’t you know Our Heavenly Father already knew our beginning and our end?  Nothing ever catches Him by surprise.  So just because things have changed in this world, it doesn’t excuse us from doing what He expects us to do.  Just like it doesn’t excuse the men from doing what He expects them to do for the treasures (us) that He has placed on this earth for them.  Remember a virtuous woman is a woman who is in this world, but not of this world.  Are you with me?

Now let’s talk about this book and the journey you are about to travel on.  As you read and meditate on some of the stories while we travel on this journey together, my prayer is that some of the stories such as, “Getting Your House In Order,” Stop Looking and Be Found, God of A Second Chance” and “Dead Weight” will minister to your spirit and cause you to take a second look at your house (your life), and see what areas the Holy Spirit has exposed which are out-of-order.  I pray that second look will cause you to allow Jesus to come in and move those hard areas out of your life, which have been wounded by the hurt and pain of the past.  I also pray and believe what you read will transform you into a woman of joy and delight, and prepare you to receive the right kind of love Jesus has waiting for you.

You see, God can bring the right kind of love into your life who will work alongside you, and those same early mornings you’re so concerned about getting up to fix breakfast can look like this.

You reach over and hit the snooze button on the alarm clock.  “Oh please, just give me 10 more minutes” you say to yourself.  You feel tired already thinking about the day that lies ahead of you, and it’s only 5:30 in the morning.  Darn, is that buzzer going off again?  I guess I better get up.  I didn’t realize I hit the snooze button twice already.  It’s now 5:50 a.m. Time to fix breakfast.  You hear a noise coming towards the bedroom, and your first thought is the kids are already up.  However, you look up and oh my, it’s your husband, and he’s bringing you breakfast in bed.  He tells you he has already fixed breakfast for the kids.  Then he leans over and gives you a kiss on his way out the door to the office, but not before he tells you: “Baby, there are many virtuous and capable women in the world, but you surpass them all; I love you have a blessed day”.  (And ladies, that last sentence regarding being a virtuous and capable women was is from Proverbs 31:29, you should read it.

Doesn’t he sound wonderful?  Alright!  So what’s the next step?  Where is the wonderful man?  How do we find him?  Looking for a man is one of the things we will talk about as we prepare ourselves for the right kind of love.  We have a long, but wonderful journey ahead of us, so prayerfully read through this book, allow it to minister to you, take time to reflect upon the words of encouragement and hear what the Lord is saying to you.  It’s set up to lead you through some of the different phases women journey through while getting ready for the right kind of love to come into their lives

Aren’t you tired of looking for love in all the wrong places?  Aren’t you tired of always being the giver in the relationship, and not receiving any love back?  Oh where is the love?  Don’t you want a love created and designed just for you?  Well, come on get your hearts to receive the love God prepared just for you.

READ A CHAPTER FROM THE BOOK

What inspired me to write this book?

I’ve been working on this book off and on for a long time. The inspiration started when I became divorced and had four kids to raise. The Lord started moving in my life, making me aware that He wanted to be first. He wanted me to know until I was completely satisfied with Him and loving Him first, no other man would ever satisfy me.

I shared part of my dating experience in the book in the story entitled “Dead Weight”. You see because I had made the Lord first in my life, He had complete control and He wouldn’t allow me to have just anyone in my life anymore. So no matter how much I thought I loved and needed a man in my life, if Jesus said no, that was the way it had to be.   The “Dead Weight” story was one I thought I would never share with anyone, but one day the Lord moved upon me and said  it was time.  After I shared my story in a newsletter that I wrote, I was amazed at how many women and men were going through the same thing.  After that I continued to receive feedback and inquiries, so I continued to write newsletters then finally I realized it was time to pull it all together and put I in a book.

What role has my faith played in my journey?

My faith in the Lord is the starring role in my journey.  It has been the one thing that has never changed.  Through the good time and hard times I’ve learned to lean and depend upon the Lord to see me through. My faith in the Lord has held me up when I couldn’t even lift my head up.

What is the one message I want my readers to receive from your book?

The one message I want the ladies to get from this book is this:  Fall in love with Jesus first.  If they will allow Jesus to be all the MAN they NEED, and then He will send them the MAN they WANT.
